How to Clean Q-Tip Marks Off of a Silver Eagle

American Silver Eagle coins were released in 1986 as part of the American Eagle Bullion Program, according to the Silver Eagle Guide website. The coins' release was authorized by the U.S. Congress and guaranteed the content, weight and purity of the coin. Depicted on the front of the Silver Eagle is Lady Liberty walking into a sunrise. A heraldic eagle is featured on the back. The American Silver Eagle coin is a collector's coin and, owing to its luster, is susceptible to getting scuffed by things such as fingernails and even Q-tips. You can clean your coin with lemon juice or baking soda, but be aware that cleaning a coin decreases its value.
