Decide which professional coin grading company will grade and encapsulate your coin. There are links to the two major ones in resources. Professional Coin Grading Service is the highest rated and coins rated by them tend to have a buyer's premium.
Become a member of the processional coin grading company. Click "Join Now" to join. Click on the type of membership you desire. Check out and pay for your membership. Create an email and password to access your account.
Click on "Services" on the PCGS main page.
Click on "Submit Online" on the Services page. You can also print a form to submit in writing. The options are right below "Submit Online" link.
Log in with your email and password. Click on "Login" after your entered your email and password to successfully log in.
Fill in the coin number of your coin. There is a guide to help you find your coin number. The guide will display the pictures with names and years of the coin.
Fill in the rest of your shipping information. Name, address, telephone number, primary contact email, and fax (if you have one).
Click "Submit" and print out the submission form. It will include the address where you must send in your coin.
Ship your coins in a padded envelope with the submission form. Insure your package with whichever shipping service you use in case your coin gets lost. For greater reassurance add tracking to your package as well.
Wait three to four weeks to receive your coin back. Your coin will arrive graded and encapsulated. Shipping time varies on your location and what type of service you paid for.
