Instructions for the 4860 Coin Sorter

The MagNif 4860 is a digital coin sorter that rapidly sorts coins into the appropriate denomination and drops them into a tube for easy retrieval. The 4860 is also capable of automatically filling preformed coin wrappers, making rolling coins for bank deposits a much easier task. Fortunately the 4860 coin sorter is simple to use, essentially requiring only that you plug the machine in, drop in the coins and turn the unit on. The 4860 sorts the five most common U.S. coin denominations, including pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters and dollar coins.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the AC adapter to the port on the back of the 4860. Plug the AC adapter into a wall outlet.

    • 2

Place your finger in the groove on the front tray and pull the tray out. Lift off any of the clear plastic tubes that have coins currently in them and empty the coins from the tube. There are five tubes, one for each coin denomination except half dollars. Insert preformed coin wrappers into the tubes at this time, if you wish to automatically wrap the coins once sorted.

    • 3

Replace the tube and push the front tray back in fully.

    • 4

Press the "Reset" button on the front of the 4860 to reset the total to $0.

    • 5

Drop coins into the collection hopper on the top of the 4860. Drop in a maximum of 50 coins at one time.

    • 6

Press the "Sort" button in the top right corner of the coin collection hopper on the top of the 4860. Allow the machine to automatically sort the coins and drop them into the correct tubes. The total dollar amount of coins counted will appear on the LCD display.

    • 7

Press one of the buttons on the display to know the exact amount of each denomination of coin counted. Press "$" for dollars, "Q" for quarters, "N" for nickels, "D" for dimes and "P" for pennies.
