Instructions

  1. Baking Soda

    • 1

Fill an empty bowl with water and drop in your coin. Remove the coin from the water with your fingers and drop it on a metal sheet filled with baking soda.

    • 2

Scrub the surface of the old coin using your toothbrush until you get rid of all the corroded parts.

    • 3

Dip the coin back into the water, and roll it again in your sheet of baking soda in case the first round of baking soda has been used up while scrubbing.

    White Vinegar

    • 4

Pour white vinegar into your plastic drinking cup and drop the coin into the cup.

    • 5

Place the lid on the cup and shake it for at least five minutes.

    • 6

Leave the coin in the cup of vinegar overnight and take it out the following morning to check if the rust has been fully removed.

    • 7

Rinse the coin with clean water and dry it with paper towels.
