How to Buy Sovereign Gold Coins

During the heyday of Britain&'s far-flung colonial empire, the gold Sovereign was minted in several of Britian&'s larger colonies and quite literally became "the coin of the realm." If you wish to purchase either bullion-grade or proof-gold Sovereigns, the easiest way to obtain them is to purchase them directly from the British Royal Mint.

  Access the British Royal Mint website. At the home page, mouse click the "Sovereign" selection. The web page showing all of the Sovereign coins available for sale will display.

  Select the gold Sovereigns you wish to purchase and mouse click on the "Add to Basket" text box.

  Confirm your selection by clicking "Add to Basket" on the order confirmation screen. A text box will display asking if you wish to view your basket. Mouse click it. "Your Basket" will be displayed.

  Sign into your existing Royal Mint account or create a new account by filling in the appropriate sections with information such as your name, mailing address and country of residence.

  Continue entering your account information. At the bottom of the web page, mouse click on "Enter payment details."

  Enter the appropriate credit card information, expiration date, and other data on the "Payment Details" page. Then mouse click the confirmation text box. Be sure to print a copy of the order confirmation number you receive when your transaction has been processed.
