How to Find Gold With a Beach Hunter Metal Detector

White's BeachHunter metal detector has the ability to detect metal on dry land and under water. This increases the metal detector's versatility and broadens the area he can search for gold. Detecting gold is difficult, as the majority of loose gold is small and loosely concentrated. The sensitivity control of the BeachHunter increases the chances of locating small gold nuggets. Use the metal detector properly and learn what sounds are associated with certain metals.

Instructions

    • 1

Assemble the parts of the BeachHunter metal detector per the operating manual. Install the battery into the battery compartment located on the control panel.

    • 2

Place the gold ring and the metal coin on the ground, four feet apart.

    • 3

Turn on the metal detector and set the toggle switch to "ALL METAL."

    • 4

Hold the disc head of the metal detector two to four inches off the ground and move toward the gold ring, moving the metal detector in a side-to-side sweeping motion. Note the tone of the "beep" emitted from the metal detector and the color of the LED light that lights when you move over the gold ring.

    • 5

Step back from the gold ring and move toward the metal coin using the technique described in Step 4. Note the sound emitted from the metal detector and the lit LED light. You will notice the sound and color of the lit LED light will vary between the two metals. Pick up the gold ring and metal coin.

    • 6

Move the metal detector to a creek bed. Sweep the creek bed and the creek band with the BeachHunter. When you receive a tone similar to the tone you received when you scanned over the gold ring, stop scanning and dig in the area with a garden shovel to uncover the metal (possibly gold.)
