How to Display Presidential Gold Dollars

The United States Presidential Dollar Coin program offers gold coins honoring America's presidents. The obverse depicts a president, while the reverse has a rendition of the Statue of Liberty. The program was authorized in 2005, and coins began to be struck in 2007. Displaying these beautiful coins in folders, albums or picture frames is a beautiful way to share your collection.

Instructions

    • 1

Decide if you want to see the back of the coin. There are two primary ways to display presidential dollars: in a folder where you can only see the front (obverse) side featuring the president, and in an album where you can see the front and back sides. There are folders available that can be framed for wall-hanging presentation.

If you choose to use a folder, carefully insert the coin. Hold the coin by its edge and carefully place it in its slot, place tissue paper over the coin, and press it into the slot. If you elect to use an album, slide the plastic sleeve into place, being careful not to cause friction on the coin's high points.

Insert the coin or folder into a frame. Some folders or albums can be placed in a frame for display on a wall. The technique for inserting the coin is the same as inserting it into an album or frame in that you want to hold the coin by its edge, but take extra care to insert the coin fully, as you do not want it to slide down the front of the frame.
