How to Obtain U.S. Mint Bags

U.S. Mint bags are canvas bags used to transport coins from the mint to banks. Traditionally, these bags would be filled with coins, sewn shut, and cut open again when they reached their destination. The bags would then be sent back to the mint and reused. The U.S. Mint has begun discontinuing the use of these bags, as technology allows mints to ship coins in other ways. As a result, mint bags are slowly becoming collector's items. U.S. Mint bags are available from many sources, including the government.
