Good
The date is worn, but still easily visible for a penny to be in good condition. The lines in the wheat heads are also missing. Lincoln's face can have a fair amount of wear. A 1934 penny in this condition is worth about 15 cents; 20 cents from Denver.
Very Good
In very good condition, about half of the lines should still be visible in the wheat heads. Lincoln's face can have some wear, but his features should still be distinguishable. Pennies with any mint mark are worth about 20 to 25 cents.
Fine
The wheat lines can have wear, but they must all still be visible in fine condition. This condition is also valued in the 20 to 25 cent range.
Very Fine
In very fine condition, Lincoln's jawbone and cheekbone can be worn, but the wheat heads are not worn. Most mint marks are worth about 30 cents, while the Denver mint mark can sell for up to 50 cents.
Extremely Fine
There can be some slight wear on the coin, but all the details must still be sharp. Pennies in this condition and higher begin to become hard to find. A Denver mint mark can sell for $2 while other mint marks sell for about $1.
About Uncirculated
There can only be the slightest of wear on Lincoln's face and on the wheat stalks in "about uncirculated" condition. Pennies in this condition go for $4 to $5.
Uncirculated
There can be some light blemishes or discolorations, but no wear can be seen on the uncirculated condition coin. Few 1934 pennies are found in conditions this stellar. Most mint marks sell for $8 to $10, while the Denver penny can sell for $20.
