Attend Local Coin Shows the Correct Way
Find out where and when coin shows are being held in your area. Consult a good Internet guide such as Coin Shows.com (see Resources below) or check your local newspaper's Living section.
Know in advance what you want to buy or sell at the show. Coming to a coin show armed with an iron-clad plan will help you stay focused and prevent you from buying things you don't need or selling things you actually wanted to keep.
Plan to stay for several hours. Unless you are just coming to look at coins and not conduct business, you will need ample time to search dealers' tables for what you want and negotiate with those dealers on prices. If you are selling, you will also need sufficient time to talk with dealers and show them what you have to offer.
Leave room for leisure. Part of the fun of a coin show is looking at the exhibits and attending the seminars that are offered. Make the most of your coin show attendance by taking advantage of these enjoyable features.
Wear comfortable clothing. When you attend a coin show, you will be doing a lot of walking. In order to maximize your comfort, make sure your shoes offer good support and your clothing is not restrictive. You will have a much better time at the coin show this way.
