Things You'll Need
Instructions
Draw a line down the piece of wood with a graphite pencil. This line will be a 23-degree angle on the side of the rectangle of wood which measures 4.5 inches wide by 4.13 inches long by 4 inches tall. Draw the line from the top corner to the opposing side of the wood, again at the 23-degree angle. Use a protractor to find the correct angle.
Cut through the line with a utility knife or band saw. The result will be an angled block of wood, which needs to be gently rubbed with a tack cloth to smooth the edges.
Superglue the hockey puck onto the angled side of the wood. This will display the puck prominently. Set the wood and puck aside to allow it to dry.
Cut the quarter-inch acrylic into six pieces with a table saw. Cut the first piece 5 inches tall, to be the back of the display. Cut the sides of the display to be 4.25 inches long with a 23-degree angle cut into one side: 5 inches tall on one end and 4.25-inches tall on the other end. Cut a piece 4 inches square to be the top of the display. The front of the display will be 4.5 inches tall by 5 inches. The last piece is the bottom piece, 5 inches square.
Glue the acrylic together with acrylic cement. Lay a 5-inch square on a flat surface and place one of the angled pieces, angled side facing the wall, onto the square so the sides meet. Line the meeting area with cement. Hold each attached piece for a few minutes.
Add the other angled piece of acrylic, being sure the angle is pointed the same direction as the first angled piece. Cement this piece onto the 5-inch piece. Slide the top onto the angles and cement these pieces together. Finally, slide the front piece between the angled pieces and add cement. Allow this to dry for 24 hours.
Gather the cement, the acrylic case, the hockey puck on its wood display and the final 5-inch acrylic square after the 24-hour setting time. Line the bottom of the wood with wood glue and place the wood on the 5-inch square. Slip the acrylic angled box over the wood and apply cement around the edges. Allow the display to dry for another 24 hours.
