Things You'll Need
Instructions
Clean the writing surface with soap and water to remove films, adhesives or dirt.
Dry the surface with a cloth. Let the football air-dry completely before it is autographed.
Carry a permanent marker along with the football. Football autographs should be written in permanent marker, which is made with dyes and pigments. Permanent ink adheres to non-porous surfaces and dries quickly.
Continue holding the football while it is being signed, so it does not have to be handed back to you.
Wait until the ink is dry before touching the signature. Ink that is dry should be uniform in color without dark lines or spots.
