Iron Method
Heat up an iron to a low setting with steam. Meanwhile, set up an ironing board and place the wrinkled paper on the board.
Lay a press cloth on the paper. This step is important to follow because the press cloth will help protect the paper you are ironing. Without this cloth, you may damage the paper even more.
Iron the paper through the press cloth. Continue ironing back and forth while the wrinkles begin to disappear. If necessary, flip the paper over, replace the press cloth and continue ironing back and forth.
Place the paper in a large book, somewhere in the middle of the book. Set the book on a table and place two or three heavy books on top of the first book. Leave the paper in the book for one or two days.
Remove the paper. At this point, most of the wrinkles should be gone and the paper should look better and lie flat.
Shower Method
Place the wrinkled paper in the bathroom near the shower. If possible, hang the paper up just outside the shower, keeping it far enough away that it will not come in direct contact with the water.
Run the shower. Turn the water as hot as it will go. Keep all doors and windows closed and let the room fill with steam. Leave the shower on for approximately 10 minutes. This process will help loosen the paper fibers.
Place the paper between two large books. When you complete this step, use caution when handling the paper. The paper fibers will be loose and rips can easily occur when moving it. Leave the paper for one or two days before removing it.
