Things You Can Do With Your GI Joe Action Figures

The first G.I. Joe was manufactured in 1963 by Don Levine. G. I. Joe has since been immortalized in film and television, and remains a favorite toy of little boys all over the world. These dolls are so loved by fans around the world that the original hand-carved prototype, made by Don Levine himself, sold in 2003 for $200,000 to comic book distributor Stephen Geppi.
  1. Display Them

    • Purchase a display case and doll stands and place your G.I. Joe action figures in the case for safe-keeping and to show them off. This is a particularly good idea if you wish to sell them at a later date, as this will prevent dust and other debris from getting all over the action figures as they accumulate both worth and years.

    Sell Them

    • If you've got older G.I. Joe action figures in good condition, you can try your hand at selling them on websites such as eBay and Bonanza. As of 2011, eBay auctions of G.I. Joe action figures can fetch over $100, especially if they are in their original packaging. If you have newer G.I. Joe action figures, make sure you keep them in good condition in order to let them accumulate worth and value.

    Play with Them

    • Bring your G.I. Joe action figures out for your kids to play with, if they're not in good enough condition to sell or collect. Your children and grandchildren will enjoy playing with your old G.I. Joe action figures, playing imagination war games and dressing up larger G.I. Joe action figures. Children may also enjoy seeing G.I. Joe action figures from different time periods.

    Decorate with Them

    • Smaller plastic G.I. Joe action figures are great for decorating. Place them on a table or tape them on the wall with parachutes in order to decorate for birthday parties. You can also take smaller plastic G.I. Joe action figures and place them on the top of your cake to make festive cake decorations.
