India
Woodcrafted pieces from India are highly collectible and usually affordable. Common Indian woodcrafts include boxes, sculptures of deities, and pen boxes. In southern India, woodcrafted architecture is expressed in the form of "rathas," miniature temples of wood on wooden wheels that depict deities and religious or mythological narratives. In Andhra Pradesh, India, woodcarvers create Tirupathi dolls from redwood and sell them to religious pilgrims.
