Disney Pixar Diecast Checklist

Diecast toys have been collectors' itmes since the early 20th century, surging in popularity after World War II. Since then, these tiny vehicles have included models from popular TV shows and movies, ranging from the cars in classics like "Bullitt," and "The Munsters," to those in more modern hits like "The Dark Knight." For fans of Disney Pixar, diecast collectibles also include the lineup from the 2006 hit "Cars."
  1. Radiator Springs Set

    • All of the main characters are in a 10-piece Radiator Springs set. This includes Lightning McQueen, Ramone, Tow Mater, Sally, Fillmore, Flo, Sheriff, Sarge, Red and Doc Hudson. All are available separately, but the paint may be different on versions sold separately. For example, the paint versions of Lighting McQueen and Doc Hudsun in this set are those from the end of the film. Ramone also comes in different versions because he repaints himself several times in the movie.

    Piston Cup Set

    • You can recreate the exciting race at the beginning of the film with the Piston Cup set. This includes the diecast models of all 10 race cars, including Lightning McQueen (original racing paint version), Dinoco McQueen, Winford Bradford Rutherford, Chick Hicks, Kevin Shiftright, Todd ''The Shockster'' Marcus, Dirkson D'Agostino, Slider Petrolski, Lee Revkins and The King.

    Cars Toon Set

    • This 20-piece set includes characters featured in the DVD extra, "Mater's Tall Tales." Characters include Mater the Greater, El Materdor, Unidentified Flying Mater, Heavy Metal Mater, Rescue Squad Mater, Tokyo Drift Mater, Monster Truck Mater, Frightening McQueen, El Materdor Lightning McQueen, Tokyo Drift Lightning McQueen, Burnt Lightning McQueen, Heavy Metal McQueen, Daredevil Lightning McQueen, Paddy O'Concrete, Screamer, Mia &Tia (from El Materdor), Mator (from Unidentified Flying Mater), Rescue Squad Trooper and the Rescue Squad Chopper. Like the Radiator Springs set, all are available separately.

    Highway

    • The highway scene from the movie is unforgettable. Boost, DJ, Snot Rod and Wingo (the four miscreants who make Mack fall asleep on the road) are available separately. Of course, there is also a diecast version of Mack, complete with a trailer to hold other diecast cars. The Mack set also comes with McQueen and DJ.

    Others

    • Remember the mooing tractors from the movie? A diecast version is out there. A diecast model of the Dinoco helicopter is available as well, as is Tex (the Dinoco company head). Other versions of Lighting McQueen, such as the blue Dinoco version, Radiator Springs paint version and a pinstripe lightning version are available as well.

    Cars 2 Additions

    • Available in May 2011 are the diecast collectibles from "Cars 2" which hits the screens in June 2011. The additions to the Disney Pixar collection (made by Mattel) include other versions of Lightning McQueen, Mater and several characters from the first film, as well as a wide range of new vehicles from "Cars 2."
