How to Use a Paratrooper Knife

The paratropper knife, more accurately known as the pantographic knife, is a knife whose blade is exposed by a scissoring action of the handles. The knife is unique because it is enclosed on both sides thus allowing double-edged knives to be used.

Instructions

    • 1

Hold the knife in your non-dominant hand in its closed position.

    • 2

Use your dominant hand to slide the collar of the knife down and away from the sharp end. As you slide the collar down, the handles will scissors outward and the blade will begin to become exposed.

    • 3

Retract the collar of the knife all the way to the bottom of the blade. As you do this, the handles will eventually come together like two legs on each side of the blade. Fold the two handles toward one another to make one handle.
