Dissemble the coke machine by first removing the door. Remove and dispose of rubber stripping around the door opening, the door liner and all electrical wiring. Remove the coin mechanism, bottle stack, shelving and other small parts. Remove all electrical parts including engine and air compressor. Remove any other parts attached to the machine.

Use a circular cutting tool to cut out rust spots and holes on the coke machine.

Use a media blaster or other high pressure air or water machine to strip paint and rust. Inspect the coke machine to locate rusted holes and dents. Cut out rust holes using a circular cutting tool and repair by welding new metal panels into place. Even out dents using a small metalworking hammer or dent tool. Sand uneven surfaces by applying a filler and then using an electric sander. Sand until the entire machine is smooth.

Cover chrome parts with newspaper or a cloth to avoid getting paint on the surface. Use a metal paint primer to coat uncovered surfaces. Purchase paint colors that match the original design of the machine. Use a paint spray machine to evenly coat the surface after the primer has dried.

Inspect engine and air compressor to determine if these parts need to be replaced or repaired. Replace all broken parts and equipment as necessary. Inspect smaller parts such as the coin mechanism and bottle stack to see if these parts need to be cleaned and refinished. Inspect hardware such as door hinges and handles. Replace hardware or restore by painting or re-chroming. Inspect the inside of the machine. Powder coat the inside tub to hide scratches or holes. Replace the door liner.

    • 5

Reassemble the coke machine. Rewire the machine and attach hardware. Use a soft cloth to clean and shine chrome parts. Add new decals to the outside of the machine.

    • 6

Plug the coke machine in to see if all parts are working correctly. Make any necessary adjustments or repairs. Let the machine run for at least three days to ensure it will continue to work properly.
