Instructions

  1. In a Frame

    • 1

Display your pinback button collection in a frame. Purchase a shadow box. Line the inside of the box with 2 layers of quilt batting.

    • 2

Find a piece of vintage fabric that sets off your pinback buttons. Lay this on a flat surface. Arrange your buttons on the fabric until you have a look you like.

    • 3

Remove the buttons from the fabric and carefully recreate the arrangement on your work surface.

    • 4

Pin the buttons to the fabric one at a time in the same arrangement. Make sure to leave about a 1-inch border at the edge of the fabric so that none of the buttons touch the edge of the inside of the frame. Start in the middle of the fabric for best results.

    • 5

Layer the pieces of the shadow box back together. Hang on the wall to display.

    In a Glass Coffee Table

    • 6

Use a glass-topped coffee table to display your pinback buttons.

    • 7

Buy a piece of black velvet and cut it to the measurements of the inside of the table. Lay the fabric neatly in the case, smoothing out any wrinkles.

    • 8

Set the buttons on top of the velvet to display them.

    In a Photo Album

    • 9

Buy plastic photo inserts for your buttons and display them in a photo album.

    • 10

Do some research on your buttons and write a little bit about them, such as the year and the reason it came out.

    • 11

Type all the information on the button on your computer and print it out on card stock.

    • 12

Insert the card stock into a plastic page sleeve in the photo album alongside your button.

    • 13

Set the photo album on your coffee table and allow guests to look through it when they come to visit.
