Instructions
Cut two planks of wood 2 inches shorter than the height of the frame and two planks of wood 3 inches shorter than the width of the frame.
Create a rectangle from the four planks of wood by positioning the two width-length pieces between the two height-length pieces and nailing the width-length pieces in place.
Trace the outside of the wooden box onto the cardboard, and cut it out with the utility knife.
Choose a velvet color that will accent your jersey and cut a rectangle 2 inches wider and 2 inches taller than the piece of cardboard. Black is an excellent accent for a white jersey, while a team color serves well behind a black jersey.
Lay the velvet flat, and place the cardboard in the center of it. Fold the excess velvet behind the cardboard.
Place the velvet and cardboard on the wooden box, with the velvet face-down and touching the frame of the box, and secure the velvet to the cardboard, as well as the cardboard to the box, with the staple gun. Use several staples along each end.
Attach the frame to the box by screwing the two hinges to one side of the box and the underside of the frame.
Secure the sets of adhesive magnets together and remove the non-stick backing from one side of each set. Secure the sets of magnets to the top of the unhinged side of the box, with one near what will be the top of the display, and one near what will be the bottom of the display.
Remove the non-stick backing from the magnets and close the frame. Press on the portion of the frame over the magnets to secure the second half of each set to the underside of the frame, creating your magnetic seal.
Open the frame, lay the jersey inside the frame as you wish it to be displayed and secure it in place by sliding pins through the jersey and into the cardboard.
