How to Join Walt Disney Collectors Society

First established in 1993, the Walt Disney Collectors Society was aimed at fervent collectors of Disney memorabilia, specifically Walt Disney Classics Collection sculptures spanning the company's vast film catalog. Society members received the Newsflash quarterly newsletter, a Sketches magazine subscription, access to special events and other members-only perks. Unfortunately, Disney decided to suspend the society in 2009, ending its 16-year run. The company's decision to suspend the group, rather than to shut it down outright, gave some fans hopes that Disney would resuscitate the society in the future. If that time comes, here are the steps you can take to join.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit one of the hundreds of the Walt Disney Classics Collection-authorized dealers around the world. For a complete list, visit the link in Resources. When the Walt Disney Collectors Society was in existence -- and as will likely be the case should it be reinstated -- dealers sold "instant" membership kits. You could also fill out an application at the store to set up your membership in the society.

    • 2

Call Walt Disney Classics Collection directly. By calling the company's customer service department, which in the United States can be reached by dialing 800-932-5749, you can set up your membership over the phone.

    • 3

Renew your membership by filling out and sending back the renewal notice you received in the mail before your membership's termination. You also had the option of once again visiting a dealer and buying a membership kit or filling out the in-store application.
