How to Clean a Sticky Chatty Cathy Doll

Mattel Inc. toy company began selling the Chatty Cathy doll in 1960. Over the next few years, Chatty Cathy was produced and sold all over the world. Her pull-string-activated sayings were recorded in multiple languages. Today Chatty Cathy is a popular collector's item. If you own one, you need to keep it clean to maintain its value. Remove any sticky substance or dirt on your Chatty Cathy using mild detergent.

Things You'll Need

Paper towels
Warm water
Mild liquid dish soap

Instructions

  Remove the doll's clothing. Dampen a paper towel with warm water and add two drops of dish soap and stir to distribute the detergent.

  Rub the dish soap solution over the sticky spot using a circular motion. Do not get any water on or near the doll's speaker cover or eyes.

  Once the sticky substance is removed, use another clean, damp -- not dripping -- paper towel and wipe off any remaining soap. Dry the doll using a dry paper towel.
