List of Vintage Milton Bradley Board Games

Collectibles have gone from being a hobby to big business. On auction websites and in antique stores, anything vintage can command a hefty price, and vintage board games are no exception. Some collectors specialize in games made by certain manufacturers and the Milton Bradley line of games is one of those. Milton Bradley, a lithographer born in Maine, started the Milton Bradley Company in 1861. The Hasbro Company acquired it in 1984.
  1. Candy Land

    • ̶0;A Sweet Little Game̶1; is the subtitle on the box of this classic board game, first manufactured in 1949 after its inventor, a polio victim from San Diego, California, submitted it to Milton Bradley. Up Gumdrop Mountain and through the Candy Cane Forest, kids went in search of the lost king of Candy Land. According to Hasbro.com, this color-coded game for kids ages 4 to 8 has sold 40 million copies worldwide.

    The Game of Life

    • Released by Milton Bradley in 1861 as The Checkered Game of Life, this is one of the most famous games in the world, even holding a permanent spot in the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. Players hop in cars and set out on the road of life to experience whatever a spin of the wheel of fate turns up.

    Twister

    • Invented by Charles Foley and Neil Rabins and manufactured by Milton Bradley in 1966, Twister was the first game using the players as the playing pieces. Twisting and stretching over a huge game board, players place their hands and feet wherever the spinner tells them to. The Hasbro Corporation estimates that over 65 million people have played Twister, worldwide.
