Things You'll Need
Instructions
Write down any causes that you may be passionate about, such as causes that help children, the homeless or animals. Narrow down one or more charities you want to donate your collection to.
Contact each charity and ask if they accept valuable comic book collections. Note any restrictions on the types of comic books they will accept and find out exactly how they want the collection to be delivered.
Identify the type and condition of your comic book collection. Write down the title of each series, which volumes and which editions of those volumes you have. Note if any editions are missing and which editions have folded or otherwise damaged pages or covers.
Compare these results with a general comic book value indicator guide to learn a possible value for your collection. If that is not possible, seek the input of a local hobby or collection store. Some examples of types and conditions are comics from the silver or bronze era in good, fair, near mint or mint conditions.
Package the collection by placing the comics in a sturdy box or plastic tub, stacking them so they do not bend or curve in any way. Place fabric or scrunched up newspaper around any spare edges in the box or tub to keep the comic books from shifting during transport.
Deliver the comic book collection in person to make sure the collection reaches its intended destination. Collect a tax deductible receipt where appropriate.
