How to Cancel a Subscription

Locate your account number. Your account should be located on the mailing label, and is usually located above your address for magazines, comic books and mailed newspapers. You can find your account number for a home delivery newspaper in a previous invoice.

Contact the customer service department. The customer service department phone number is usually located in one of the first few pages of a magazine or newspaper where the publishing information is located. You may also be able to find the contact information on the magazine's website.

Request that the subscription be cancelled and take note of important information. When you call, you should write down the name of the customer service representative, the time that you called and any confirmation number that you may receive.

Request a receipt or confirmation that your account was closed. It is a good idea to request that the company send you a written statement acknowledging that your account is closed and your subscription is cancelled.
