Things You'll Need
Instructions
Determine the value of your collection. Acquire a reputable price guide from a site like ComicsPriceGuide.com, the Comic Book Collection Made Easy website or HA.com and look up the current market value of the issues in your collection (see Resources below). Correct your valuations for any flaws in the condition of your comic books, as guides usually list prices for comic books in mint condition.
Offer to sell your comic book collection to other collectors you are already acquainted with, especially if any of these people have expressed interest in certain issues before. You should put out the word of your impending sale to those you know first, as you might be able to find a buyer quickly.
Sell off your collection online, using eBay or a specialized comic auction site like HA.com (see Resources below). One thing you can do to get the maximum return on your investment is to sell your most valuable comic books individually, and then package the rest of your collection in a single bulk sale.
Advertise in your local newspaper. This will attract the attention of interested local buyers, which can work to your advantage if you live in a town or city with limited access to rare comic book issues. Generally, the most valuable and rare comic books find their way to where the money is: larger cities.
Avoid selling your collection to a comic book or collectibles store, if possible, since proprietors will never give you more than 60 percent of what your comics are actually worth. If you're in a hurry to sell, you'll command far less than the actual value of your comic books.
