Walk along the banks of the smaller rivers and streams while watching for anything that appears shiny and dark looking. Some of the possible sites are along the Sweetwater Branch and Tumblin Creek.
Use your sifter to sift through the sand in the areas around smaller creeks throughout the city, especially near Possum Creek and Hogtown Creek, while keeping an eye out for anything dark against the light-colored sand.
Search around areas that have gravel bars or a lot of pebbles, moving the rocks and pebbles around to look under them.
