How to Scope a BLR

The Browning BLR is a lever-action rifle. The weapon is available in a wide variety of calibers, and is a formidable hunting rifle. The upper receiver of the BLR features pre-drilled and pre-tapped scope-mounting holes. Plug screws are factory installed in the mounting holes to prevent moisture seepage and corrosion.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Use the flathead screwdriver to remove the four plug-screws from the top of the receiver.

    • 2

Place the mounts on the receiver; align the screw holes with the holes on the upper receiver. The tops of the mounts have recessed holes for the screws. Place the screws in the holes. Tighten them with the supplied Allen wrench.

    • 3

Separate the halves of the scope rings by removing the retention screws. The base of the scope rings are compatible with the dovetail design of the mounts. Place one-half of the rear scope rings in position on the mount. Place your scope in the ring; place the other half of the scope ring on the other side of the mount. Screw in the retention screws, but do not completely tighten; repeat the process for the front mount.

    • 4

Adjust the position of the scope; allow sufficient eye relief, and a good site-picture. Adjust the vertical and horizontal crosshairs until they appear straight. Finish tightening the retention screws.
