How to Adjust a Burris Red-Dot Scope

Using a Burris Red-Dot scope on your rifle, shotgun or handgun allows you to acquire your target quickly and accurately. Burris red-dot scopes emit a bright LED light that is visible only when looking through the scope. The LED light represents the point of impact of your bullet and has the appearance of a red laser beam. Burris red-dot scopes are powered with the lithium batteries that are held in the light intensity control dial. Make sure your weapon is unloaded before attempting to adjust your red-dot scope.

Instructions

    • 1

Set up a target in a range of approximately 100 yards for a rifle or 50 yards for a shotgun or handgun.

    • 2

Turn on your red-dot scope by rotating the light intensity dial to any position apart from zero; the zero position is the off position. Adjust the intensity of your light with the dial, the positions of one to 11 control the brightness level, with the light increasing as the numbers ascend.

    • 3

Attach the laser bore sighter to the barrel of your weapon and activate it. Take aim at your target and notice where the laser beam is hitting your target in relation to your scope's red dot.

    • 4

Remove the caps from the scope elevation and windage adjustment dials, located on the scope's top and the right hand side.

    • 5

Use your flat tip screwdriver to rotate the dials. To sight in your scope, the laser and the red dot must align. The elevation adjustment dial, located on top of the scope, must be rotated clockwise to move the red-dot down or counterclockwise to move it up. The windage adjustment dial, located on the right side, needs to be rotated clockwise to move the red dot left, or counterclockwise to move it right.

    • 6

Remove the laser bore sighter when finished.
