Slide
The slide assembly, also called the upper receiver, houses the barrel and contains the firing pin. The weapon's sights are attached to the top of the slide assembly. The sights are open with a dovetailed, notched rear sight and a single-blade front sight.
Barrel
The barrel of the Beretta 84FS is a rifled tube through which the bullet passes as it is being fired. The internal end of the barrel also seats the cartridge before the weapon is fired. The barrel of the Cheetah is just over 3.8 inches long.
Grip
The grip, also called the lower receiver, is the lower half of the weapon and contains the trigger assembly and the safety switches. The grip also houses the weapon's magazine. The grip is flat black and made of a metal alloy that is corrosion resistant.
Recoil Spring Assembly
The recoil spring assembly is made up of two parts: the recoil spring and the spring guide. The spring assembly is an internal part located directly beneath the barrel. The purpose of the recoil spring is to pull the slide back to the forward position after the weapon has fired. This action reloads the pistol, preparing it for the next shot.
