Disassemble your gun and set aside all pieces that you don't want painted, such as a wooden stock or the bolt assembly.
Sand down the surface lightly with 600-grit sandpaper to remove any scratches or blemishes.
Clean off the parts with a gun solvent to remove any dirt or carbon deposits. Cover surfaces you don't want painted with masking tape.
Suspend the parts in midair with fishing line. You need full access to all of the surfaces of the parts.
Apply an even coat of RustOleum High Heat Primer to the surface of your parts and let dry.
Apply an even coat of RustOleum High Heat Paint and let dry for at least 12 hours. Reassemble your weapon.
