Installation of a B-Square Ruger Mini-14

The Ruger Mini-14 is a magazine fed, semiautomatic rifle chambered to use .223-caliber ammunition. Installing a B-Square rail mount to your Mini-14 rifle is a quick procedure that requires no alterations to your weapon. The B-Square mount comes equipped with a mounting plate that replaces the bolt lock cover plate, located on the left side of your rifle's upper receiver. Before installing your B-Square rail mount to your Mini-14 rifle, make absolutely sure that the weapon is unloaded.

Things You'll Need

Flat head screwdriver
Hammer
Soft metal punch

Instructions

  Place the end of your soft metal punch against the notch on the side of the bolt lock cover plate and lightly tap it with your hammer; the cover plate will pop out. Remove the cover plate.

  Put the replacement cover plate into position with the screw hole located toward the rear of the weapon. Press in the plate; it will snap into position when properly seated.

  Place the mount onto the rifle with the large retention screw aligned with the plate screw hole. Secure the mount by firmly tightening the screw with your screwdriver. Take care not to over-tighten the screw.
