Things You'll Need
Instructions
Disassemble your Remington Nylon 66 rifle and separate any pieces that you don't want refinished. Your two major pieces will be the upper receiver/barrel assembly and the nylon stock.
Prepare your pieces by lightly sanding down any scratches or gouges with 600-grit sandpaper. Wipe off the parts with a clean rag and a degreaser/stripper solution to remove any dirt or carbon deposits.
Use your wire or fishing line to separately hang the upper receiver/barrel assembly and the nylon stock. They should be hanging in such a way that suspends them and allows you full access to all the surfaces.
Prepare the gun finish in hardener solution in the airbrush container. Use your syringe to determine the proper ratio of 10 to 14 parts finish to one part hardener.
Spray the finish evenly over the surface of your part with your airbrush. If you are refinishing the parts with separate colors, finish the first part, prepare your airbrush with a second color and spray the second part.
Let the parts dry for at least 12 hours, take them down and reassemble your Remington Nylon 66 rifle. You can use your rifle immediately; however, it takes approximately 30 days for the finish to completely cure.
