How to Use My New 4x12 Leupold Scope

The Leupold 4-12x40 mm rifleman scope has adjustable magnification from 4 to 12 times your normal vision, and an objective lens that's 40 mm in diameter. The objective lens channels light into the scope to provide you a clear sight picture. The scope features wide duplex reticles, providing you a better view of your target. All Leupold scopes are built tough and are shockproof and waterproof. Once you understand the scope's basic operation, you will discover that the scope is simple to zero in and use.

Instructions

    • 1

Acquire your target by looking through your scope and aiming your rifle. Through your scope you'll see two lines, one vertical and one horizontal, intersecting in the center of the sight picture. The intersection of these lines is the projected point-of-impact of your rifle's bullet. Once you have the crosshairs centered on your target, you have successfully aimed your scope.

Adjust the magnification of your scope as desired. Use the variable power ring, located adjacent to the eyepiece, to set the scope at your desired power of 4 through 12.

    • 3

Sight in your scope by aligning the intersection of the crosshairs with the rifle's projected point-of-impact. The point of impact can be determined by either using a boresighter or by firing live ammunition at a target, observing where the bullets hit and adjusting your scope accordingly. The crosshair adjustment dials are located on the top and right hand side of the scope. The top adjustment moves the vertical axis and the right side adjustment the horizontal axis.
