How to Sight a Dot Scope

Red dot scopes provide you with a single red point of light that's visible through your scope, representing your projected point-of-impact. These scopes typically do not provide any magnification, but can help you quickly engage your target. Red dot scopes are powered by lithium batteries and the light intensity is adjustable. The vertical and horizontal axis of the red dot are adjustable with the dials located on the top and right side of the scope body. Using a laser boresighter to sight in your red dot scope is recommended.

Instructions

Set up your target at the desired range. Install your laser boresighter by inserting the stem of the device down the barrel. Turn on your red dot scope by turning the brightness intensity dial off the zero position (zero is the off position).

Turn the laser on and aim at your target; notice where the laser beam hits the target in relation to your red dot. When the two points of light are aligned, the scope will be sighted in. Remove the caps from the scope adjustment dials and use your screwdriver to turn the dials and move your red dot. The top dial needs to be turned counterclockwise for up or clockwise for down. The right side dial needs to be turned counterclockwise for right or clockwise for left.

Turn off and remove the laser boresighter; turn off your scope by placing the brightness intensity dial to zero and return the caps back to the adjustment dials.
