Things You'll Need
Instructions
Fit your holster by placing your unloaded pistol in your holster and finding a spot along your waist that is comfortable and allows you to smoothly draw your weapon. Finding the optimum position to wear your pistol is usually a matter of trial and error. The longer you carry your pistol, the more apparent your best carry position will become.
Put on your holster. If you are wearing a pancake coaster, this involves partially removing your belt and weaving the belt through the vertical slots at the ends of the holster. A paddle holster is put on by slipping the paddle between your body and your pants. The belt is not required to wear a paddle holster, but you must have enough tension between your body and your pants to hold the holster in position.
Adjust the angle of your holster. Some holsters, primarily paddles, allow you to adjust the angle at which your handgun sits against your body. If your holster has this feature, you should set the angle that best provides you with a smooth draw straight out of the holster.
