How to Reload a 40 S&W Glock

Glock features four models of handguns chambered to use .40 S&W ammunition. The G22 is a full-size model with a magazine capacity of 15 rounds; the G23 is the slightly smaller compact model with a capacity of 13; the G27 is a subcompact that's designed for conceal ability with a capacity of 10 rounds; and the G35 is a competition model, a full size pistol with an extended barrel. The technique for reloading all of these pistols is exactly the same. When your Glock pistol fires its last round, the slide will automatically lock into the rear position.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the magazine release button with your thumb and eject the empty magazine from the bottom of the pistol. The magazine release is located behind the trigger guard on the left side of the weapon.

    • 2

Insert a loaded magazine into the magazine well on the bottom of the pistol, until it locks into place.

    • 3

Push down on the slide release switch that's on the left side of the pistol with your thumb. The slide will move forward and chamber a bullet from the fresh magazine. Your pistol is ready to fire.
