Things You'll Need
Instructions
Unload the rifle. Press the button just in front of the trigger to remove the magazine. Then pull and lock the bolt back, opening the chamber and ensuring that no cartridges are within.
Drift the take-down pin out the side of the stock. The pin is located rearward of the trigger guard, where the body of the gun meets the stock. Use the non-marring punch to push the pin out.
Release the spring tension of the gas system. Fold the fore-end out into the bipod setting. Close the bolt, then pull the gas tube toward the front of the gun while twisting it counterclockwise (front view), bringing a tab at the base of this tube to the upright position.
Remove the gas tube and bolt assembly. Collapse the stock so that the butt clamps to the barrel. Lock the bolt back again, then press down on the charging handle and remove it from the side of the gun. Pull the gas tube upward, then slide the tube along with the bolt assembly out the bottom of the frame.
Remove the retaining pin, firing pin and cam pin from the bolt assembly. Use the punch to drift the retaining pin out the left (front view) side of the bolt assembly. The firing pin and cam pin can be removed with your fingers. The bolt can also be removed from the middle of the assembly, using your fingers.
Remove the piston head from the gas tube piston. Keep pressure on the head as you press the release pin. Then slowly let the internal spring expand and remove the piston head, spring and gas tube from the piston. Your rifle is now completely disassembled.
