Loading
Bersa pistol magazines function in the same way as other auto-loading handgun magazines. Cartridges are inserted at the top of the magazine by sliding them in primer-end first. Push down on the inserted cartridge to load another on top. The magazine is spring-loaded from the bottom. When no more cartridges can be pushed in the top, the magazine has reached its capacity. Small holes in the side of the magazine allow the user to view how many cartridges are loaded.
Firing
The magazine inserts into the bottom of the pistol's grip. The bullet-end of the top cartridge should face toward the barrel when properly inserted. Pull the weapon's slide to the rear of the gun and then release. The slide will push the top cartridge in the magazine into the chamber where it can be fired. After each shot, the slide is forced back by expanding gases and the springs are moved forward again, charging a fresh cartridge into the firing chamber. When the magazine is empty, an internal lever activates the slide catch mechanism, which keeps the slide from charging forward on an empty chamber.
Standard Magazine
The standard magazine for a Bersa .380 Duotone holds seven rounds of ammunition. The base plate of this magazine has a finger extension that extends from the base of the pistol's magazine well when inserted correctly. The magazine is available in nickel and dull "matte" black finish.
8-round Matte Magazine
Bersa offers a larger magazine with a capacity of eight rounds. This magazine does not have a finger extension on the bottom. The base plate is flat and it has a matte black finish.
9-round Deluxe Magazine
The nine-round magazine has a full-grip extension along the entirety of the base plate. This magazine has a blued finish.
