How to Change the Battery in a Crimson Trace Grips Glock 23

The Glock 23 is compact size handgun chambered in 40 caliber. When equipped with a crimson trace laser, the pistol's accuracy and intimidation factor is greatly enhanced. Nothing scares a bad guy like a red dot showing where the bullet is about to hit. Crimson Trace laser sights use two CR2032 or DL2032 lithium batteries (commonly found anywhere batteries are sold) which provide over four hours of use and have approximately a five-year shelf life.

Instructions

    • 1

Make sure your Glock 23 is unloaded and lock the slide in the rear position.

    • 2

Press out the sight retention pin (which replaced the trigger housing pin when you installed the laser) from the right hand side.

    • 3

Pull the sight off the back of the grip and remove the batteries from the interior of the sight (they are located, one each, on the flaps that go on the sides of the grip).

    • 4

Replace the batteries with the positive sides facing toward the grip of the pistol (as you visually inspect them, you should be looking at the positive). Make sure the batteries are placed securely in position and test the batteries by pointing the laser in a safe direction and pressing the activation key on the back of the sight.

    • 5

Place the sight back on the pistol and reinstall the retention pin.
