Instructions for a Remington Scope Mount

In addition to Remington's line of rifles and shotguns, Remington also produces scope mounts. The Remington Integral Scope Mounts are made of steel and hard coated with a matte finish. The Integral scope mounts have the scope-rings built in as part of the mounts. The mounts are installed by using an Allen wrench, which is supplied with the mounts. Remington rifles are produced with scope mounting holes drilled and tapped into their upper receivers. Before installing scope mounts onto your rifle, make sure that the gun is unloaded.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the plug-screws from the top of your rifle with your screwdriver. The screws should be located in front and behind of the ejection port. These plugs are installed by the factory to prevent moisture from accumulating in the screw holes.

    • 2

Align the holes at the base of the scope mounts with the rifle's mounting holes and screw the mounts into position with your Allen wrench.

    • 3

Remove the top halves of your scope-rings, place your scope on the rings and put the top halves back on. Do not completely tighten the screws. Your scope should be able to move.

    • 4

Adjust your scope's position to provide you with a good sight picture and sufficient eye relief. Also make sure that the scope's cross-hairs appear straight up and down and straight across. When your scope is properly positioned, finish tightening the screws.
