Things You'll Need
Instructions
Disassemble your Mossberg completely, removing all parts that you do not want painted (for example, the trigger assembly and the bolt).
Prepare the surfaces for painting. Use 600 grit sandpaper to lightly sand down stainless steel, Teflon, plastic and wood. You do not need to sand down metal surfaces that have been blued; simply apply the paint directly.
Apply a degreaser/stripper solution to clean the surfaces. By cleaning the surfaces, you prevent painting over carbon, grease or dirt. After cleaning the surfaces, tape over any areas you don't want painted.
Suspend the parts you are about to paint in midair, holding them with a thin wire or fishing line. You need free access to all the surfaces of the part.
Add the Dura-coat finish and a hardener solution to your airbrush containers. The ratio of finish to hardener should be between 10 to 1 and 14 to 1. Evenly apply the mixture to the surface of your part.
Leave the parts to dry for at least 12 hours then reassemble your Mossberg. Your Mossberg is now ready for use, but the paint will take approximately 30 days to completely cure. During the curing process, avoid contact between the painted surface of your of Mossberg and any material which may rub against it (such as a sling).
