How to Mount a Grip Extension on a Glock Model 27

The Glock model 27 is a subcompact pistol chambered to use .40-caliber ammunition. The pistol is an excellent concealed-carry weapon; however, many shooters find it difficult to use due to the small grip. You can lengthen the grip by installing grip extensions on your magazines. The grip extension is not an actual extension of the grip, but is an attachment that is installed on your magazine to serve the dual purposes of increasing the capacity of the magazine and increasing the grip surface.

Instructions

    • 1

Make sure that your Glock 27 pistol is unloaded and remove the magazine.

    • 2

Remove the floor plate from the bottom of the magazine by inserting the end of your screwdriver into the hole located near the front of the floor plate and pressing in until you feel the plate release. The plate will slide slightly forward when released.

    • 3

Slide the plate forward and off the magazine. Place your thumb over the plate to prevent the magazine spring from escaping.

    • 4

Place the internal part of the magazine extension onto the spring, wide side forward, and press down the spring so it is below the lip of the magazine.

    • 5

Slide the magazine extension onto the bottom of the magazine in the same way that the floor plate had been attached. You will hear an audible click when the extension locks into place.
