Differences in the Frames and Slides in Glock 20 and 22

The Glock model 20 and 22 handguns are full-size pistols that are similar in size and identical in operation. The Glock 20 is chambered for 10-millimeter (mm) ammunition and the Glock 22 is chambered for .40-caliber ammunition. Both handguns have standard magazine capacities of 15 rounds. Both Glock models 20 and 22 are also available as "C" models; these versions have slots cut into the top of the weapon which divert gas to compensate for recoil.

    • The total length of the Glock model 20 is 7.59 inches and the pistol has a line-of-sight (the distance between the front and rear sight) of 6.77 inches. The Glock model 22 is slightly shorter, with a total length of 7.32 inches and a line-of-sight of 6.49 inches. The barrel length of the Glock 20 is 4.60 inches and the Glock 22 is 4.49 inches.

    Height and Width

    • The frame of the Glock 20 is slightly taller at 5.47 inches, while the Glock 22 is 5.43 inches tall. The width of the Glock 20 is 1.27 inches; the Glock 22 is slightly smaller with a width of 1.18 inches.

    Weight

    • The Glock 20 has an unloaded weight of 27.68 ounces and a loaded weight (15 rounds) of 39.14 ounces. The Glock 22 is slightly lighter with an unloaded weight of 22.92 ounces and a loaded weight of 34.38 ounces.
