How to Adjust a Trigger on a Remington 700

An advantage of the Remington model 700 line of rifles is the X-Mark Pro adjustable triggers. This system allows you to increase or decrease the pressure necessary to fire the rifle. This feature can be extremely valuable if you are doing any kind of precision long-range shooting for which a light trigger pull is preferable. Before adjusting your trigger, make absolutely sure that your rifle is unloaded.

     Locate the hex screw on the inside upper surface of your trigger

     Use the hex key, which was provided with your rifle, to adjust the trigger pull. Turn the set screw counterclockwise to increase the required trigger pull or clockwise to decrease it. Make small adjustments.

     Check the trigger pull by dry firing your rifle. If further adjustments are necessary repeat the process.
