How to Remove a Front Sight Gas Block

A front sight gas block is a part on an AR-15 rifle located at the end of the barrel. It serves multiple functions by acting as the front sight, securing the gas tube and holding the front of the handguards in position. If you are replacing your handguards with the free float tube, it is necessary to remove the front sight gas block to get the tube onto the barrel. Removing the gas block requires only a couple of basic tools. Before working in your rifle, make sure that the weapon is unloaded.
