How to Put Night Sights on a Glock 27

The Glock model 27 is a subcompact pistol chamber for the powerful .40 SIG ammunition. You can remove your existing sights from your G27 and install your new night sights with just a few simple tools and a rear sight adjustment tool for Glock pistols. Night sights can give you an advantage when engaging targets in low light situations. Before changing the sights, make sure that your weapon is unloaded and disassemble your G27. The only part you will be modifying is the slide; separate it from the rest of the parts.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

  1. Replacing the Front Sight

    • 1

Place the slide, top down, on a surface such as a table or workbench so that the front sight is clear of the surface.

    • 2

Remove the front sight retaining pin by placing your pin punch on it and lightly taping it with your small hammer.

    • 3

Turn your slide over and insert the new front night sight's retaining pin into the top of the slide (where the previous front side just was.)

    • 4

Press down until the sight is level with the slide's surface.

    • 5

Turn the slide over so that the top of the sight is against a surface, preventing it from moving.

    • 6

Place the snug screw into the bottom of the front side base and tighten so it is secure. Use the supplied wrench and take care not to over-tighten.

    Replacing the Rear Sight

    • 7

Adjust the sight carrier of your rear sight adjustment tool so that it is positioned directly over the slot that will hold the slide; the sight carrier is the part that moves the rear sight and is moved by the drive screw.

    • 8

Put the end of the slide into the slot so the existing rear sight is being held by the sight carrier.

    • 9

Turn the drive screw so the rear sight is pushed left and continue until the sight clears the slide.

    • 10

Remove the sight from your sight adjustment tool and replace it with your new night rear sight. Turn the drive screw, pushing the new sight into position.

    • 11

Remove the slide from the tool and reassemble your G27 pistol.
