Things You'll Need
Instructions
Consult the owner's manual that came with your Cannon gun safe. If you cannot locate your owner's manual, you can download one at the company's website, or you can call the company's customer support line at 1-800-242-1055. The information you're looking for is which type of combination lock your safe has.
Open your Cannon gun safe using your current combination (this is a series of six numbers).
Turn the safe to "locked" mode with the door still open. You can do this by turning the handles on your safe to the locked position, or on some models, by pushing a release at the bottom of the safe.
Change the combination on your safe. For an S&G safe, press "7-4-*" to enter the combination changing mode. Enter the existing code, followed by the "#" button. You'll hear a series of beeps. Next, press "1-*". Now, you're ready to change the combination. Enter your new six-digit combination, followed by the "#" key. You should hear a series of beeps to let you know the new combination is valid. Next, enter the combination followed by the "#" key once more; another series of beeps will let you know the combination has been changed.
On SecuRam locks, press the "0" key six times. Enter your current six-digit combination. Then, enter the new six-digit code twice. You only have 20 seconds to complete this process, or the lock will reset.
On an LP lock, press down on the "0" key under the LED screen until the lock begins to blink. Enter your old six-digit combination. Enter your new six-digit combination; the LED screen will blink to confirm the combination. Enter the new combination once more. If you see the LED screen blink again, you'll know the combination is valid.
Test your combination out a few times with the door still open. This will ensure that the combination is valid.
