How to Adjust a Buehler Scope Mount

Buehler scope mounts attach to the rifle receiver, and in turn, allow the rifle's scope to mount to it. The Buehler scope mounts have a windage adjustment -- a horizontal adjustment -- that allows the rifle and scope to be more accurate while keeping the scope lower to the rifle receiver. Adjusting the mount is the key to gaining more accurate shots with a stable scope platform. The adjustment to the scope mounts is done with the aforementioned windage dial.

Instructions

    • 1

Set up a target at 100 yards away. Check that the target is in a safe and legal area, such as a rifle range.

    • 2

Take a practice shot and gauge where the shot went as compared to where you aimed.

    • 3

Turn the windage dial to the left if the shot ended up too far to the right of your target, or turn the windage dial to the right if the shot went left of the target. Make a slight 1/8- to 1/4-turn adjustment. Take another shot. Check your accuracy.

    • 4

Continue the micro-adjustments with the Buehler scope mount windage dial until you achieve the accuracy you wish.
