Colt M 1873 Peacemaker
The Colt M 1873 Peacemaker is a very large single-action revolver, first developed for military use in 1873. However, it was not instituted as a standard military weapon until 1892. The Peacemaker is called such because of its enormous size and the power it contains. Though many variations of the Peacemaker have been created and released over the year, the Colt M 1873 Peacemaker is still at the top of its class in respect to power, precision and overall proficiency. After the eventual development of a more practical and cheap pistol to be used as standard army issue, the Colt M 1873 Peacemaker was still used by ranchers, bandits and lawmen alike for many years later.
Ruger Vaquero
The Ruger Vaquero is a more modern six-shot single-action revolver that was first introduced in the early 1990s by Sturm, Ruger &Company. The gun's design was actually based off of an earlier gun model released by the company, known as the Ruger Blackhawk, a popular single-action revolver developed and released in 1973. The Ruger Vaquero, though modern, is still plated with a blue steel case with a gloss stainless finish, resembling the nickel-plated finish that was popular in the 19th century. While it keeps the aesthetic preferences of an old-west revolver, the Ruger Vaquero still packs a punch for modern-day standards, and remains a popular and practical single-action revolver.
Freedom Arms Model 83 Premiere
The Freedom Arms Model 83 Premiere is another popular and modern revolver that gun enthusiasts swear by. Freedom Arms is a company renowned for developing single-action revolvers at their peak. Though the trigger is a little looser than a gun like the Peacemaker, the Freedom Arms Model 83 Premiere still retains fast reload time and great overall power attached to its comfortable grip. The quality of the grip is able to perfectly pad the modest recoil of each shot, making the Freedom Arms Model 83 Premiere a more smooth shot than many other single-action revolvers.
